Overview and Responsibilities
The Senior Director, Branded Content Development for MTV Digital will oversee the development of branded content for MTV’s digital content studio. He/she will be a master of creating concepts that exemplify MTV’s status as the premiere youth brand and coincide with the strategic initiatives of MTV’s partners. The successful candidate will develop content both internally with the help of a robust in-house digital creative team and externally by soliciting pitches from production houses and creators. He/she will collaborate extensively with MTV’s video production team to ensure the execution of its branded content is of the highest possible caliber. He/she will also collaborate across MTV’s creative departments including News, Digital, and Integrated Marketing on developing and executing concepts. This is an innovative position for a creative thinker with in-depth knowledge of both the digital and branded content spaces.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and manage a pipeline of sponsored digital video content for MTV’s vast digital and social platforms
• Write strong, cohesive treatments of creative concepts under tight deadlines that will be distributed internally and externally
• Serve as an ambassador for branded content initiatives to external clients and internal senior executives
• Ensure the execution of green-lit concepts meets the high standards of the MTV brand
• Collaborate in great detail with other departments within MTV on ideas, strategy and execution
• Cultivate relationships with outside producers and production companies to ensure MTV receives the strongest possible ideas from the creative community
Basic Qualifications
• 7+ years experience developing branded video content of varying genres for diverse platforms including digital, social and linear
Additional Qualifications
• Highly creative
• Strong rolodex of production companies and content creators
• Experience working with national advertisers and agency groups
• Expert at collaboration
• Management experience preferred
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously at various stages from pre- to post-production
• A passion for pop culture and a deep understanding of MTV’s core audience
