Vice President, Networks Research
Responsibilities:
• Key point of contact for the LA-based Sony’s Global Networks Programming & Marketing groups
• Leads a team of 3 researchers based across Sony’s Los Angeles and London offices, and communicates with channels research colleagues embedded within each of the local territories.
• Primarily supports Sony’s Global TV Networks Division, but works alongside programming research colleagues and able to balance multiple ongoing projects within the SPT Research Department.
• Able to analyze and succinctly communicate channel and program performance across multiple territories based on audience measurement, social metrics and primary studies.
• Helps manage SPT’s current research panels across multiple territories alongside local research teams.
• Involved with concept, program and promo testing.
• Able to clearly assess the research needs from various departments and translate into actionable insights.
• Able to develop and showcase best practice research solutions.
• Reports into SVP, Programming & Networks Research
• Based in Culver City, CA with some international travel.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
• Strong team manager with proven track record of building a team, and the ability to work across different offices and time zones. Self-motivated and inspiring to others. Ability to work within a larger entertainment matrix organization with emphasis on sharing and communicating across teams. A thought leader in the industry. Strong speaking and presentation skills.
• Multiple years of direct experience with primary research methods both qualitative and quantitative (survey design, content testing) as well as direct experience with audience measurement metrics (Nielsen, Kantar, Rentrak, etc).
• TV studio or TV networks experience, preferably having worked for a cable channel in an international capacity.
• Superb analytical abilities both with primary custom studies and secondary data sets. Experience with linking information and synthesizing insights from multiple domestic and international sources. Well-skilled in crafting presentations.
• Familiarity with international ratings and international ratings software such as EMS, ITVR, TechEdge, and Vision Critical’ s panel survey platform SPARQ.
• Passionate consumer of television and entertainment programming.
• Bachelor's degree required
