Overview and Responsibilities
We are currently seeking an experienced IT leader to build and manage the enterprise architectural practice and functions for the Contract Accounting business focused on the Participations and Residuals custom solution. This position will be responsible for ensuring a secure, scalable IT platform to meet current and future transformation needs across the contract accounting organization. This individual will actively contribute to long-range strategy planning for the PARIS application; and develop and implement policies, procedures and systems required for maintaining the application technology goals. This leadership position will also be responsible for guiding teams and individuals who support the application. This includes application development, integration, testing and the associated run operations. The ideal candidate will be very hard-working, highly organized, resourceful, detail-oriented and analytical with familiarity in key accounting concepts and the ability to multi-task.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Function as the key technical resource for the Contract Accounting systems supporting the business area and ensuring the systems are performing up to requirements – key system is PARIS, a custom SQL/ASP.Net application
• Lead and own all technical aspects of custom application implementations and/or customizations including data migrations, data quality, systems integrations, 3rd party applications, and custom development
• Collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization to define and support technology initiatives and solutions, including applications development and maintenance services
• Work closely with developers, business analysts and end-users to manage technical solutions to business requirements in order to develop IT strategy, and propose solution options including advice on design, implementation, tools, scalability, system performance, dependencies
• Define and execute technical polices, standards and procedures for application development and maintenance; responsible for the development of best practices and guidelines for existing and/or new technologies
• Provide ongoing support to the business by responding to a variety of inquiries and issues regarding the systems or processes in the business area, ensuring efficient resolution with minimal impact to business performance
• Direct and lead the planning for systems implementations and future application releases; manage PARIS application upgrade and patch deployment process
• Evaluate projects and support development team from a technical stance, guaranteeing that the development methods used are correct and practical; perform coding and/or configuration to meet documented needs
• Conduct feasibility, risk, regulatory compliance, and ROI analyses for proposed projects as needed. Present a recommendation related to project feasibility
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of leading edge technologies and contributes to plans for the future of the custom application
• Conduct technical assessments of team and provide feedback on performance as necessary
• Produce complete project plans and clearly communicate status to management
• Functions independently with limited work direction
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience architecting solutions in a complex environment
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managerial role overseeing application, solution or database developers
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
Additional Qualifications
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of architecture standards, tools and frameworks such as Model-View-Controller (MVC)
• Technical knowledge of programming languages (ASP.Net, VB6, etc.), relational database management systems (MS SQL Server), application systems, operating systems, networks, and hardware capabilities
• Experience in managing development teams using AngularJS, JQuery, Java, and other technologies to build customized solutions that support business requirements and drive key business decisions
• Experience in delivering technical leadership and setting best practices (e.g., integration and application development, deployment, testing, iterative refinement)
• Experience in defining and managing a change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications/code and updates to existing applications/code
• Ability to write technical specifications, program, test, and manage the transition of modifications through the quality assurance and change control process
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, as well as continuous process improvement skills
• Strong database design and analysis skills
• Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking and consulting skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain custom development concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, vendor and other IT personnel
• Credibility with clients in key business areas is essential
• Timely status and communication of risks and issues to leadership

• Experience with Royalties, Third Party Participations and/or Residuals systems
• Experience with Financial Systems
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience working with multiple lines of business and systems
• Entertainment experience preferred
