Job Overview:
Conceptualization, writing and producing of major network launches, campaigns and episodic promotions designed to grow network ratings and enhance and grow the network brand through innovative and original creative. Ideal fit would be an idea generating creative with an Always On, Slightly Off comedic sensibility and basic Avid editing skills.
Job Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize, Write and Produce major network launch campaigns.
• Generate all aspects of video creative required for large network campaigns and branded blocks, from concept pitch to final delivery.
• Produce and Direct live action shoots for major campaigns and presentations.
• Basic strategizing and development of multiplatform promotional campaigns with assistance from upper creative management.
• Provide creative direction and mentoring to junior staff Writer/Producers while partnering with the Creative Director.
• Provide constant feedback to staff on routine promo writing and producing.
• Develop promo spots which raise awareness of programming, support print campaign and further network brand strategy, as well as generate ideas for campaign complimentary videos intended for digital and social distribution (Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc).
• Provide creative direction to graphics team and companies.
• Work with creative management to develop concepts and scripts and hire any additional personnel needed for their projects.
• In addition to regular duties of a staff Writer/Producer, the position will facilitate the creative feedback and approval processes of outside production companies and freelance producers.
• Edit assembly cuts for proof of concept promos, as well as lower priority promo work.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 6 to 8 years’ promo production experience in entertainment, broadcast or cable television with a minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience conceptualizing, writing and producing promos for television.
• Basic competency in AVID Media Composer
• Strong familiarity with Protools, Photoshop
• College Degree Preferred
• Previous experience as lead creative on network launch campaigns preferred.
• Must have the ability and desire to manage and mentor junior staff in promotion and branding
