Description
The Construction Sales and Channel Readiness position will be responsible for owning the creation of highly persuasive technical content (presentations, demos, whitepapers, technical articles, competitive research, videos, and more) for all Autodesk BIM 360-branded products (http://www.bim360.com/).
The role will be part of an energetic, dynamic and highly visible team within the Autodesk industry marketing and strategy organization, and will have a direct impact on driving the knowledge, confidence and ultimately the efficiency of both internal to Autodesk and external sales teams specific to the BIM 360 business line. The optimum candidate will offer a balance of technical product or application knowledge, construction project execution experience, and a passion for how technology will drive change in the building construction industry today and in the future.
You are the perfect candidate for this role if:
• You’re very comfortable diving into the product to show it off to customers, internal sales, and external channel sales teams to show how it can be used in a variety of ways and scenarios. You know how each persona uses our products and what they need to do.
• You have a passion for the building construction industry, and enjoy interacting with the typical personas involved in a variety of building projects both domestically and in select geos around the globe.
• You can create and publish content, demos, presentations, and videos using the latest and greatest Autodesk software with industry standard publishing tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Techsmith Camtasia
• You are a self-starter and can juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic and often ambiguous environment.
• You enjoy solving problems and are good at crafting solutions.
• You like getting your hands dirty in day-to-day tasks to get things done.
• You are familiar and comfortable with sales process, working through customer needs and business challenges, and working with other sales team members
• You communicate clearly and effectively with cross functional groups and senior management. A particular emphasis will be given towards public speaking and the ability to demonstrate both Autodesk products to large audiences, as well as perform lectures or training on technical sales materials to both internal and external Autodesk sales teams.
• You can anticipate a need for sales or technical collateral and can proactively create, socialize and revise the collateral by working with an extended team of experts and consumers.
• You are organized and can keep multiple priorities in mind as you execute towards common team and individual goals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• From a technical standpoint, create technical sales collateral and technical sales tools, including presentations and demos that can be used in the sales process both online and in sales meetings.
• Measure the effectiveness of the content you create. Conduct on-going surveys and analyze results.
• Be able to articulate the value of the solution and/or product feature and functionality directly to the customers’ challenge/business need from a sales perspective (to be consumed by our various sales forces).
• Develop and provide technical industry solution expertise to both marketing and sales teams
• Create, package, communicate and monitor Technical Readiness Tools such as technical documents (presentations, fact sheets, data sheets, demo datasets) which contain details on product vision or technical architecture.
• Conduct on-going, detailed competitive analysis and produce documentation regarding competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, sales tactics, and pricing.
• Leverage technical marketing assets in multiple ways to help drive internal and external awareness with various sales teams on the product line, the personas within construction, and the customer workflows that apply.
Skills and Profile:
• 3-7 years’ experience in Building construction, consulting, sales, or training. Special emphasis given to any software Technical Sales (Sales engineer) or inside/outside Sales Representative experience
• Hands-on experience with Autodesk BIM 360 products is highly desirable, or proof that you can learn it quickly
• Familiarity with other apps in the AEC) (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Operations) Industry is also highly desirable, but not required
• Experienced in working with Sales Content Management systems like SAVO, Skilljar or Saba
• Must be sharp, energetic, assertive, and results-oriented. Able to prioritize and focus in a rapidly evolving environment,
• Ability to work independently and with teams as needed on a regular basis
• Global and domestic travel may be required, up to 35%.
