Architectural Digest is seeking a director of video to manage its video programming across all channels, from concept-driven celebrity ideas to shareable social series. She or he will work in close partnership with the Architectural Digest editorial and social teams to develop franchises that represent the Architectural Digest tone and style, and engage a diverse audience base. The role will also jump in to shoot and edit as necessary to ensure ample and timely coverage for site and social channels. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of how people consume, share, and engage with digital video.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage video programming across all channels
• Work closely with Architectural Digest editors, creative personnel, and CNE to source and develop concepts for relevant brand pillars, including home décor, renovation, celebrity style, architecture, automotive, travel, luxury, and shopping
• Maintain a roster of top-caliber directors and editors for a wide range of projects, from celebrity shoots to how-to videos
• Work with social and audience development/analytics teams to develop a social video strategy that grows video views and site traffic
• Work with counterparts at CNE to improve results and grow distribution within KPI categories
• · Manage timelines and budgets throughout the production and post-production process
• · Track video trends across social media and the web at large, and adjust your video strategy accordingly
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• · 5+ years of professional experience as a video producer and editor at a digital media organization
• · Ability to work within a busy team with the focus on sourcing, editing and packaging video content to the highest standard
• · Calm under pressure with an ability to problem solve on the fly and maintain composure
• · Proven track record of creating shareable video
• · Good technical knowledge of most major video editing software and publishing systems
• · Ability to generate cut-downs, teasers, trailers, and loops of each program for social platforms
• · An excellent and always expanding knowledge of online video-both creation and distribution on multiple platforms
