The Mountain Winery is privileged to provide an incomparable setting for a wide variety of events, including weddings, corporate meetings, dinner parties, concerts, and holiday parties. We have impressive vistas, with landscaped gardens and redwood groves encircling our terrace, resulting in an ideal outdoor venue. Events hosted indoors amid oak casks in the historic stone-masonry Winery Building. Both offer a wonderful environment, unique from any other in the valley.
The Director of Sales will lead The Mountain Winery Sales Team and will be responsible for developing and implementing the Special and Private Event strategy at The Mountain Winery. Under the direction of the General Manager, the Director of Sales will focus on selling Special Events and rentals into The Mountain Winery. This person will field internal leads and proactively develop new leads from the community and industry.
Essential Duties:
-Train and manage the Sales Team and event operations
-Generate sales through prospecting, lead generation, presentations, networking, and outbound marketing techniques
-Track sales and devise plans to reach annual goals
-Maintain and manage event prospect targets through relationship building, outstanding customer service and product knowledge
-Develop strategic collateral materials, online marketing and other strategic tools that will generate activity at The Mountain Winery
-Develop competitive pricing models that drive the maximum revenue possible
-Work closely with the General Manager and Concert Department to maximize use of the facility
-Work with entire team at the Winery to help create Special Events that bring traffic to the complex
Required Qualifications:
-A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year); Advanced Degree Preferred
-Years of related work experience: 7
-Computer savvy and proficient in MS Office Professional Suite
-Must be self-motivated and have a professional and calm demeanor
-Excellent interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills
-Extensive experience in sales with an ability to create and foster working relationships with clients
-Exceptional customer service skills
-Strong organization, project management and decision making skills
-Must be able to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
-Previous sales and management experience
