Position Summary:
Regional Director of Accounts (Midwest) position is expected to sell the Hawai’i Convention Center and meeting/and or exceeding state room night goals and events as advised by the Hawai’i Tourism Authority (HTA).
Essential Job Functions:
• Position will manage a pre-selected account portfolio consisting mostly of accounts within the Midwestern geographical region.
• These accounts will be assessed by applying predetermined selection criteria on an annual basis.
• Position will solicit these accounts consisting of personal outside sales calls, site inspections, telephone solicitation and written and oral communication and file maintenance.
• Direct and manage all group sales activities in the respective geographical office to achieve budgeted individual and team room night goals.
• Participate in monthly sales meetings, sales strategy meetings, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales related meetings, as required.
• Attend trade shows, industry events and meetings determined to impact direct sales to the Hawaii Convention Center.
• Maintain knowledge of market, competition and account prospects to be added to the account portfolio.
• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards which may be established from time to time. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the Convention and Travel Industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hawaii Convention Center. In addition attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
• Support the Convention Services Department AND any other operating departments at HCC.
• Provide any assistance in the successful operation of programs at HCC.
• Provide any/all reports as required by the Hawaii Convention Center, the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the State of Hawaii.

• Performs other related duties as may be required or assigned by Management
Requirements:
• Bachelors degreed (Business, Marketing or other related) preferred or equivalent
• Min. 7yrs experience of progressive experience in sales and functions
• Must have the ability to work harmoniously in a team setting exhibiting the “Aloha Spirit” to fellow workers, guests, clients and the community.
• Must exercise sound judgment in all Fiscal matters, which follow AEG and Hawaii Convention Center’s Policy, Procedures and Reporting processes.
