SUMMARY
We are looking for a bright, energetic professional with an interest in the preparation and negotiation of software license and service agreements in support of a global sales organization. This includes regularly working across internal corporate functions with sales personnel, technical and product personnel, and central corporate functions on contract matters, and on drafting and negotiating contracts.
Our team has a tremendous wealth of experience in technology contracts in the education space and maintains a solid track record of finding the right people to work with and train to be a part of the team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include the drafting and negotiating of license and service agreements and ensuring compliance of legal terms and conditions by customers. The Contracts Manager will play an integral role in the success of the group. Specifically s/he will be responsible for:
• Drafting and negotiating of software license agreements, professional services agreements, and contract addenda in region.The Contracts Manager will routinely exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Reviewing RFPs, Tenders, RFIs, and RFQs, offering appropriate alternatives to contract terms and conditions.
• Reviewing and resolving issues affecting company compliance and ensuring satisfaction of legal requirements appropriately balancing Blackboard and customer objectives.
• Advising sales management of contractual rights and obligations and provide clarification of contract terms and conditions.
• Interpreting contract policies, operating practices, and performance standards within the Contracts team.
• Performing all other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years contract management and negotiation
• Understanding of the development, negotiation, and execution of contracts.
• Ability to work well in a “team” environment.
• Desire to succeed in a customer service oriented environment
• Must be highly efficient and organized, and able to handle multiple tasks with ease and professionalism.
• Ability to be proactive, prioritize and work under tight deadlines in a service oriented and aggressive sales driven environment.
• Speed and accuracy
• Proven analytical and written and oral communication skills
• Cultural sensitivity
• Sense of humor
PREFERRED PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years software and services contract management/negotiation in a high tech organization.
• SaaS experience
• SalesForce.com experience
• Sharepoint experience
• Demonstrated negotiation skills
• Higher Ed or public sector contracts experience
• Familiarity with software and hardware corporate revenue recognition issues, and legal concepts regarding software contracts and licensing including but not limited to limitations of liability, indemnification, and warranties.
• A law degree is not necessary for this position
