Job Description
Ubisoft Entertainment, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Core Engineerfor our San Francisco development studio. We are looking for experienced people to help us develop for current products, such as South Park: The Fractured but Whole and Rocksmith, as well as contribute to future projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop new core systems and refactor existing systems
• Optimize existing and new systems
• Research, investigate, and prototype for upcoming platforms and projects
• Collaborate with technical lead on design and core tech
• Work with technical lead and engineering team to identify systems in need of maintenance, optimization and/or replacement
• Coordinate with leads to ensure smooth roll out of new features
Qualifications:
• 3+ years programming experience
• Shipped at least 2 games as systems engineer for PS3, Xbox360, Wii, PC or MacOS
• Mastery of C/C++, with excellent multi-threaded programming techniques
• Expert on at least one major current gen platform (PS3, Xbox360, Wii, PC or MacOS)
• Bachelors in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent
• Strong communications skills
• Ability to be self-directed, focused, and detail-oriented
• Understanding of low-level optimizations, core subsystems, memory management, cross-platform development
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Understanding of streaming file systems
• High level graphics knowledge using Direct3D or OpenGL
• Fluency in Assembly and SIMD programming
• Strong knowledge in 3D math
• Experience in networked gameplay
