About the Position
Lead a small project management team at a growing digital media business by managing the development of all internal and consumer-facing digital products.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with in-house product, design, and dev teams, as well as managing projects with external teams and resources, to create project plans for all digital product development needs
• Ensure projects meet or exceed internal team expectations, in terms of on-time delivery and level of quality
• Meet periodically with product owners to ensure project plans and solutions are understood and address business requirements
• Manage and control project scope and the change control process to ensure that projects are executed according to agreed upon scope and schedule
• Coordinate activities of the project team and ensure project tasks, including scheduling and facilitating project-related team meetings (i.e. kick-offs, status, internal/client reviews), communicating action steps to team, and delivering weekly status reports to project team, the client, and management.
• Work with Resource Management to ensure projects are appropriately staffed, including internal and third-party resources
• Communicate relevant project information to internal stakeholders, including project status, risks, and issues
• Develop, maintain, review and/or disseminate project documentation, including status reports, invoices, change orders, project schedules, budgets, and post-mortem reviews.
• Create business requirements, SOWs, technical specs, best practices, and user documentation, as needed
• Mentor junior team members
• Oversee / assist in product QA, as needed
Skills / Requirements
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in project management for digital businesses in-house or in a consulting or agency environment
• Experience using project management methodology, including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed task-based work plans and specifications, allocate resources, and lead team meetings
• Experience with software development life cycles, web development processes, and the delivery of solutions with creative and engineering components, advertising projects, digital strategy projects
• Ability to develop and demonstrate an understanding of the client’s business, needs, expectations, and requirements
• Experience leveraging Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience in project management and communication tools, such as GitHib, Jira, Confluence, Asana, Slack
