This position is responsible for providing senior level program management leadership and strategic supply chain planning and execution to Global Supply Chain and Enterprise initiatives. The Program Manager provides leadership and builds partnerships across business and technology teams to achieve objectives. The Program Manager is also responsible for preparing and communicating reliable Program plans and status and successfully managing risk in accordance with project management best practices.
Depending on the nature & scope of the assignment, the individual may also be required to capatilize on his / her supply chain related process experience to assess, refine, stabilize, or optimize critical end to end Global Supply Chain processes. The candidate should have direct supply chain process experience combined with systems analysis expertise which will be required to achieve organizational objectives. The individual is expected to provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff members as appropriate.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Under strategic direction only, provide program/project management support initiatives. Utilizing best practices, draft and monitor project plans and schedules and manage team resources to deliver program objectives successfully. Collaborate with other Business and Technology Program Managers to identify and manage interdependencies across the entire HMH program/project portfolio to achieve maximum results for the business.
Partner with Sr. Functional management and Business Process Owners within Global Supply Chain and across the enterprise to identify strategic opportunities to improve business performance. Formulate implementation roadmaps in concert with business and t subject matter experts. Provide leadership in planning and accommodating the change agenda.
Lead facilitation of process mapping and requirements gathering activities as business needs warrant. Ensure documentation is completed as appropriate.
As required, lead or facilitate internal Global Supply Chain working groups or represent GSC at cross-functional working groups. Develop and mentor Jr. staff members to higher levels of performance and contribution.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience, Advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Preferred:
• Industry certification(s) in Project Management (PMP, PgMP), Business Analysis or APICS (CPIM, CSCP), strongly preferred.
• Prior experience with SAP or other ERP systems
• Prior experience with Customer Experience and/or Supply Chain transformation initiatives, preferred.
• Prior experience with Publishing/Educational media a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
