Department Description:
The Warner Music Group Business Development team is responsible for the company’s global strategic initiatives, focusing on the digital business and including audio and video downloads, streaming, mobile, social targeted services, and new music formats. The team evaluates and implements licensing models and partnership structures for the digital entertainment marketplace and develops strategies which help to sustain WMG’s growth in this segment.
High Level Job Description:The Vice President will play an integral part in each of these areas, with a focus on supporting strategy formulation, taking ownership of key partner relationships and successfully structuring, negotiating, and executing global agreements.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Work with key digital partners to structure, negotiate, and execute global agreements, maintaining strong relationships while representing the strategic view of WMG
• Identify, structure, and execute new business opportunities in either new categories or with new partners to help drive revenue and strategy
• Maintain key partner relationships and find new ways to drive WMG revenues and create opportunities on new and existing platforms
• Evaluate potential licensing partners in the digital space – social networks, interactive radio, online video, mobile commerce, etc.
• Communicate deals, both completed and in process, to key stakeholders within WMG and to senior management
• Partner with business development team to assess emergent companies interested in commercially exploiting WMG content.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong understanding of major new media platforms and businesses
• Foreign language skills preferred, but not required
• Strong negotiations skills
• Microsoft Office Suite
Education Required/Preferred:
• 10+ year’s experience at a media company, global investment bank, or top-tier management consultancy
• Bachelor's Degree
