Description
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Art Director is responsible for conceptual development and the execution of creative deliverables. These responsibilities include creating and communicating concepts, implementing marketing strategies and developing interactive design solutions. You’ll work with a collaborative team of designers, copywriters as well as external vendors, such as production, photography, video, and more. Balancing creative thinking with interpersonal skills, this person will demonstrate an ability to justify concepts to both the client and the project team.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Here’s what you’ll be doing day to day…
• Conceptualize: Develop concepts and communicate ideas that hone in on design as an essential component of business strategy
• Strategy: Balance strategic development with client business objectives
• Mentor: Direct & delegate to core creative services disciplines (design, information architecture, audio design, production and copywriting) Guiding and directing junior designers with thorough delegation, follow-up and mentoring Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables
• Design: Directly contribute to project design and development:- creating storyboards / initial graphic concepts- conceiving functional design solutions- creating site grids and interface demos. Produce clean, cohesive design with appropriate skills to deliver technically accurate files
• Maintain Relationships: Build and maintaining a rapport with clients, partner agencies and vendors
• Innovate:Contribute to the innovative development of the creative department
• Time Management: Ability to manage deadlines on concurrent projects effectively
• Collaborate: Work with senior management to gain approval of concepts and final design
• Brainstorming: Attend creative briefings, brainstorm sessions and internal meetings/reviews as well as participate in client presentations
Qualifications:
• Strong design portfolio with 4+ years education, 4+ years design and interactive work experience
• Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS5/CS6: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc. and Mac OS
• Comprehensive understanding of interaction and UI design
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Proven ability to design for HTML5 and CSS
• Experience leading a team of designers, production specialists and writers to creative excellence.
• Well-developed communication skills
• Ability to think creatively and justify concepts to clients and team members
• Experience with strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development and creative execution
• Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines
• Keen knowledge of current design and technology trends
• Strong experience in site and mobile design (including designing for retina display)
• Appetite and ability to work closely with technology dept. to refine designs
• Solid brand/identity experience
• Experience working in an art director/copywriter team setting on conceptual development and integrated campaigns
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
• Strong conceptual development, typography and interactive design skills
• Flexible, adaptable worker with superb multitasking abilities
• Effectively take initiative and complete projects thoroughly and on time
• Ability to collaborate and articulate creative ideas to the team

• Illustration: both hand drawn and digital experience
• Photography and photo manipulation skills
• After Effects/Motion Design experience
