From our offices here at Yahoo in San Francisco, we build and operate the premiere programmatic exchange for video advertising. For the past several years, we've successfully driven huge growth in the ads market by using our technology stack and innovative problem solving to achieve web-scale performance and effective targeted monetization strategies. We are a small, elite team of collaborative engineers who are looking for candidates to join us in our efforts.
A Lot About You
We are looking for software engineers who prefer to work on small teams, can work collaboratively but also contribute independently and desire an opportunity to see their solutions succeed in production. Engineers in our group assume many responsibilities and are comfortable with the whole engineering pipeline, from requirements and design through production monitoring. You will also work closely with product leads and business representatives who will use your solutions in their everyday work. Our team habitually makes the most of software, hardware and networking technologies, so you will need to know your tools well to use them well.
Your Day
• Work on small, collaborative teams to implement engineering- and product-driven features
• Collaborate with analysts and business leaders to formulate and execute data-driven market strategies
• Partner with Operations and Production professionals to ensure that your solutions are functioning as intended in production
• Research and test solutions to a challenging set of real-time, open-ended problems
• Present your work and its results to all members of our staff and to other groups within Yahoo
You Must Have
• 2+ years' experience working in C/C++
• Knowledge of web services, HTTP and other networking technologies
• Track record of building effective, well-engineered solutions
• Knowledge of Unix systems, shell tools and system monitoring
• Bias towards executing quickly, effectively and collaboratively
• College degree in CS or other engineering/quantitative field
