Job Description
We are seeking for a full-time Senior Data Engineer specialized in marketing analytics data warehouse design and development.
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building and enhancing a marketing and customer data analytics platform.
He/She works closely with the process/product owners and technical team members to gather and analyze business and technical requirements. The Senior Data Engineer develops code, processes, standards, usage guidelines and procedures to make data useful by the end users.
Missions
• Master the technical developments
◦ Work with Java, Python and SQL and Hadoop technologies: map-reduce programs, Hive, Sqoop, HBase
◦ Develop and maintain ETL jobs using Informatica, Python for Data Warehouse
◦ Work in the Data Lake (Hadoop) efficiently
• Ensureperformance according to best practices
◦ Design and deploy both relational and big data based analytics data structures
◦ Design databases, tables, data structures and schemas to address the requirements of a growing digital business
◦ Optimize performance tuning of queries, indexes, procedure scripts, and caches to improve retrieval time and data loading efficiency
◦ Ensure that the physical database design fulfills requirements for functionality, performance and availability in Teradata
• Mentor team members on best practices in area of expertise
• Lead the vision and prepare the future
◦ Participate in the full lifecycle of analytical data, from requirements to implementation and maintenance
◦ Lead and participate in data model design reviews
◦ Develop proofs-of-concept and prototypes to help illustrate approaches to technology and business problems
◦ Make sure adequate space is available for near-term and future growth requirements
Qualifications
Thanks to a minimum of 8 years of large-scale data processing, warehousing, ETL and data modeling experience, you have demonstrated a strong expertise as a Data Architect designing logical and physical data models.
Moreover, you have gained a strong awareness and understanding of business processes and functions (marketing, customer, sales, etc.).
As you work in an international environment, your English is, at least, fluently mastered.
Technical requirements
• Hadoop (at least 5 years of professional experience ideally)
• Teradata (and in general, MPPs and RDBMs) (at least 5 years)
• Informatica (at least 5 years)
• Programming in Java and Python (at least 3 years)
• Scripting in Shell and SQL
Bonus
• Microstrategy and/or Tableau
• Empowered analyzing, synthetizing and reporting skills
• Up-to-date professional experience with online social networks (Youtube, Facebook, Twitter etc.)
• A strong and significant professional experience in the digital, media and e-commerce sectors
• Stunning communication and team-leading capabilities
