We offer multimedia advertising solutions for business schools and recruiters ranging from online experiences to traditional print mediums to custom white-label lead generation tools. Within this team there are opportunities to work with our clients to help them with student recruitment, executive recruitment, content distribution, branding and marketing needs across their businesses.
We are recruiting a Business Development Manager to help drive revenue from the UK recruitment marketplace. Reporting to the SVP Global Head of Careers, the ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, intelligence, and energy to selling solutions across the product portfolio.
Accountabilities:
In the role you would be expected to:
• Effectively manage all aspects of your given business and territory, understanding your clients business, building & managing relationships within your client base
• Be responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
• Be responsible for being proactive in managing assigned categories of clients
• Build effective relationships with local and global sales and marketing teams
• Report and forecast on sales revenue on a regular basis
• Master the product offerings across the Economist Careers business including online fairs, case study competitions, jobs board, executive education offerings, and advertising
• Maintain sales call volume and consistent outreach to current clients and prospects
• Confidently and persuasively convey the merits of The Economist Career capabilities to clients and prospects in all written and verbal communications while maintaining the high quality and professional image of The Economist
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales database
Experience, skills and professional attributes:
To succeed in the role you must have:
• Solid sales experience
• Basic knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
• The ability to close deals over the phone
• Be able to position and sell an established highly valued brand
• Be well organized and able to balance selling multiple solutions across the business portfolio
• Experience using salesforce.com a plus

• Strong written and verbal skills
