Qualifications
SUMMARY –The Database Administrator plans computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. This individual ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries and establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. The Database Administrator formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management and proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (Knowledge and experience necessary to do job)
Formal education or equivalent experience (note: this is the minimum requirement. Equivalent experience in lieu of a formal degree should be listed.)
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience required
• Minimum 3 years SQL Server or Oracle DBA experience required (5 years preferred)
Skills/knowledge/abilities – (list specific functional areas of knowledge required within a discipline i.e. credit, accounts payable, etc.)
• Experience installing, configuring and supporting SQL Server and/or Oracle database systems following industry best practices required.
• Experience supporting AWS RDS
• Experience supporting complex database server environments strongly preferred, including:
• clustering technologies (Veritas, Oracle RAC, MS Cluster Server, etc.)
• Database replication (Oracle Dataguard, SQL Server log shipping, etc.)
• Centralized backup/recovery methodologies (TSM, Veritas, Tivoli TDP)
• interfaces with centralized monitoring systems (Sitescope, OVO, Oracle Grid Control) performance monitoring/tuning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience working in a shared services environment supporting multiple customers preferred

_____% 1. Provide the following support services for Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and related utilities and tools: RDBMS Installation, Configuration, Patching, and New Release Management.

• Database and Application Design and Usage Consultation (including preparation of Basis of Estimates and participation in project team meetings)
• SQL Support (for Construction/Tuning), Data Migration
Change and Configuration Management:
• Application Storage Allocation
• Creation of database internal data structures
• Migration of Databases into Production
• Sizing of Databases, Tablespaces
• Segments and Partitions
• Security/System Administration
• Monitoring/Tuning for Performance and Availability
• Backup and Recovery Services
• Definition and Documentation of Standards/Processes
• 24x7 On-Call Support (rotated amongst 5 DBA's)
