We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our wonderful team in our New York office! This role will be focused on supporting our offices in North America, specifically, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Saratoga NY, San Francisco, and LA, with the opportunity to work on global projects.
Working alongside other HR Generalists in North America, the day-to-day work of this role supports all stages of the employee lifecycle, including delivery of employee onboarding, facilitating manager training, working to resolve employee queries and partners with managers to resolve labor law issues. The HRG’s are a responsive and visible point of contact for employees.
This role will work closely with other HR functions, Payroll and IT, as well as with the business.
What you’ll do:
• Partnering with managers to understand and resolve local issues
• Working with the business to develop proactive solutions to recurring team challenges
• Act as the first point of contact in HR for employees
• Be the local expert providing hands on labor law advice and support in region
• Road managing department project work and roll-out of HR initiatives
• Managing orientation and onboarding for all new employees
• Supporting processes to support the employee life cycle including performance development, organizational change and conduct issues
• Delivering training to support manager development
• Completing any necessary administrative work and regular audits
• Reviewing HR processes and suggesting changes to improve efficiency and scaling
Who you are:
• Great communication skills and ability to work as an effective part of a team
• Experience of working in a generalist HR role in the US, ideally within an international business
• Expert knowledge of US labor law and process compliance
• Proven ability to work independently and influence other teams and managers
• Experience of identifying and implementing changes to processes and ways of working
• Ability to be flexible and work well in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Actively seeks to broaden HR knowledge through current research and involvement in HR communities
• The role involves regular travel to other offices
