We have an opening for an experienced, innovative, strategic Business Strategy Analyst in our Burr Ridge, IL office. Does this sound like you?
The Business Strategy Analyst supports McGraw-Hill Higher Education’s leadership in understanding, defining and leading potential business strategy for the division. As part of this role, it is expected an incumbent will be executing various complex analytics and business process improvement assignments that support a wide range of business initiatives and strategic needs for the division. This role will support the development of integrated strategic plans and projects that impact go to market strategy and help to put broad context around supporting various pricing and market strategies. It is expected that this role will be a change agent in the organization through exceptional use of data and analytics and be able to position recommendations with support of leadership with and beyond the team.
Critical Functions:
• Support various strategic and business process improvement efforts, including project coordination and analytical needs.
• Support and lead key elements of strategic planning process, including analysis, business scenario modeling and financial implications of key projects over 3-5yr time horizons.
• Serve as a direct support resource for key senior leaders on business process improvements and demonstrate ability to communicate progress to stated, expected timeline and goals.
• Effectively presents and makes persuasive arguments to convince key clients to take action, and negotiates effective solutions between key individuals.
• Develops approaches and manages work to ensure the highest quality results for customers
• Effective in supporting and leading the strategy through quality of work outputs and ability to partner with customer throughout organization.
• Drives organizational efficiency.
• Support a culture of data-driven decision making, via the increased commitment to and utilization of data.
• Expected to collaborate a very strong way with internal finance and team resources to maximize effectiveness.
Requirements
A successful candidate will have:
• Undergraduate degree in business, economics or other quantitative based discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Three plus years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in supporting business projects, business strategy and system implementations.
• Outstanding cross-functional leadership; ability to influence across groups with strong communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to condense complex information into easily digestible and actionable for stakeholders.
• Demonstrates high level of personal credibility; ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with all levels within an organization.
• Demonstrated use of advanced business modeling methods and high level knowledge of analytics to lead execution and mentorship with others in the organization.
• Must have strong competency in MS Office products, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Access
• Ability to travel occasionally required (10-20%).
A successful candidate may have:
• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Familiarity and experience with Tableau, SQL and other data query tools (strongly preferred).
• Experience with project management concepts and project tracking systems (Microsoft Project).
