Overview and Responsibilities
We're looking for a data-obsessed, media maven to join our team. The Business Development Manager will be key member of the Business Development team, focusing on building and strengthening our roster of video partners. This team member will work with external partners, internal research, and video producers daily, analyzing video performance across all of our distribution platforms. Mining this data will help to form actionable insights that will help Viacom’s video syndication strategy reach its highest potential. They will create innovative strategies to build our audience across various brands and distribution channels.
The Manager will be a key member of the Business Development team responsible for partnership management, various reports, both regular and ad-hoc, and trend analysis. Responsibilities include:
• Assist the VP/Director in partnership management to meet brands and corporate goals.
• Work across Sales, Partner Marketing and the entire Viacom Media Networks (VMN) brand portfolio to identify appropriate, mutually beneficial partnerships for VMN and distribution partners.
• Create, analyze, and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports across Viacom digital and syndicated platforms.
• Create a continuous feedback loop with video team and directly influence decision making with data-driven recommendations.
• Research, evaluate and provide strategic perspective on new technologies, trends, business models and opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with other researchers and key stakeholders.
• Work with programming editors to help understand audience behavior across all of our distribution channels
• Keep up with digital trends, digital monetization trends and emerging digital platforms.
Basic Qualifications
• 3-5 years working in a high-intensity, strategical role like media strategy, management consulting, or corporate strategy.
• The ability to sift through data, quickly identify key metrics, and create actionable insights based on findings.
• A strong grasp of statistics and benchmarking analysis.
• Must be able to present/discuss data to group.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• BS or BA required
Additional Qualifications
• Experience with internal and 3rd party digital measuring solutions (Omniture SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics, comScore, Nielsen.)
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, look ups, index formulas, etc.)
• Strong analytic abilities, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Highly organized, ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Detail oriented, with professional demeanor.
• Able to turn complex/intricate analyses into clear, easy-to-understand “story-telling” presentations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable candidate to interact with a wide range of personalities/styles and establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
