Overview and Responsibilities
The Manager of Consumer Insights is responsible for the design, execution, analysis and reporting of both quantitative and qualitative research studies for Nickelodeon in support of the development, programming, consumer marketing, press, and digital teams. This position will report into the Senior Director of Consumer Insights and will serve as a key resource to the Senior Director on all Consumer Insights matters.
• Work with department head to manage and/or provide support for all aspects of various quantitative and qualitative consumer insights research projects including: survey development, fielding, data analysis, report preparation, data checking, and online survey link testing
• Specific projects include formative testing of R&D initiatives, beta testing, , usability, research of content consumption across digital platforms, ongoing assessment of the media landscape, etc.
• Communicate research findings, insights and recommendations to various departments through written reports and / or in-person presentations.
• Recommend research solutions based on business objectives/requirements and manage project vendors to make sure projects are completed on time
• Mine and analyze data and information from syndicated research services and industry publications
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Communications, Media, Statistics, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in media or market research, with experience in primary research
Additional Qualifications
• Masters degree or MBA preferred.
• Candidates must be able to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative research with business needs in mind, write clearly, and translate data into insights
• Good communication skills, both oral and written. Comfortable presenting in a group setting.
• Creativity when it comes to solutions for research questions and reports
• Excellent computer skills, including PowerPoint,Excel and SPSS
• Extremely detail-oriented, with attention to accuracy and follow through
• Strong mathematical skills
• Strong proofreading and presentation design skills
• Highly organized, ability to work under pressure, prioritize, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Experience working with children (preschoolers and 6-11-year-olds)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for using data to tell a story
• Passion for television and other digital media
