We’re looking for a Design Manager to join Team Snapchat! You will play a key role in leading design strategy, directing projects and inspiring designers to create memorable and engaging experiences. Working from our Venice, CA headquarters, you’ll report to our VP of Marketing and collaborate with the Marketing team on messaging that helps businesses and consumers understand and embrace Snapchat. In this role, you’ll be resourceful, responsive and quickly able to shift between thinking and working on multiple projects at once. You will be a creative and energized addition to the team that will help us achieve truly exceptional results and embodies a 'get it done' attitude.
What you’ll do:
• Set goals for design team, develop organizational capabilities, and how the team supports and works with the larger Marketing organization.
• Develop strategic and operational plans for design team, managing execution, and measuring results.
• Project manage a wide range of design projects (from conception through production) inclusive of, but not limited to: print both print and digital collateral, keynote presentations, videos, displays, and website graphics.
• Provide clear, effective, and timely communication of design direction.
• Guide and coach direct reports towards development and career progression.
• Identify and propose design solutions.
• Communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure direct reports promote a successful attitude and teamwork to achieve business results.
• Create workflow processes to manage design requests.
• Attend Marketing team meetings and share information and expertise about design and marketing trends.
What we’re looking for:
• B.F.A. in Graphic Design or equivalent
• 8-10 years of work experience in graphic design (in-house experience a plus)
• Basic video skills, including knowledge of Premiere and After Affects.
• Expert command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), and basic HTML & CSS.
• Management experience to lead a creative team.
• Experience working with or apart of Marketing departments (B2B and/or Consumer facing)
• Exceptional attention to detail in communication, design and production.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills that fosters teamwork, collaboration, and an ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
