Overview & Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Works in a highly strategic, highly consultative framework with the largest, most complex customers and prospects. Helps to align customer business strategies and IT architecture via Rackspace products and services. Works closely with senior leadership of clent organizations as well as key technical personnel.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: Mastery of all of internal organizational structure and product lines. Comprehensive knowledge of common industry technologies, both hardware and software. Deep understanding of strategic partners, corporate vision, and long-range company objectives. Extensive knowledge of competitor offerings, including the strengths and weakenesses of those offerings. Broad knowledge of IT systems in general, networking and hosting technologies in particular, and the ongoing development of both. Strong attention to detail, follow-up techniques. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Proven ability in systems analysis and systems architecture. High degree of confidence and poise. Ability to build, maintain, and enhance business relationships.
JOB COMPLEXITY: Collaborates with a broad array of personnel to identify and engage select enterprise-level customers. Works across the organization at all levels of leadership to influence pre-sales and sales strategy, engagement models, and solutions methodologies. Collaborates with leaders and technical personnel to facilitate complex, innovative, and often non-standard IT solutions. Provides industry thought leadership through business relationships, publications, and presentations. Advises on the alignment of the product roadmap and overall hosting strategy with enterprise demand. Up to 50% travel routinely required.
SUPERVISION: Operates under no supervision.
Qualifications
• EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of combined technical support experience and pre-sales technical support experience, with no less than 4 years in either area.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: General office environment. May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. No special physical demands required.
