Department Description
Procurement is responsible for partnering with internal BU’s to help optimize their spend, leverage internal and external relationships & deliver measurable results & best value to Y globally. Specialized by commodity expertise (i.e.: Technology – Software & Hardware, Marketing, Facilities, Travel, Meetings & Events, HR, SG&A, etc.), this group works with the internal stakeholders to negotiate and contract on behalf of the company.

A Lot About You
As a Procurement Analyst at Yahoo, you will be responsible for supporting category management and tactical sourcing for meetings and events but also within other sourcing categories including: marketing, consulting, and/or legal services.
The successful candidate should have strong procurement knowledge to be effective as an individual contributor (IC) in a decentralized/distributed procurement environment at Yahoo, the candidate will, in addition, need to present him/herself as an ethical, professional, highly motivated self-starter who is able to read, write and speak English and is flexible in working hours to accommodate time zones. The employee will be reporting to a Procurement Director.
Your Day
• Solid knowledge of principles, concepts, and theories within own function and other related areas
• Knowledge and proficiency of databases and Procurement processes and systems.
• Able to apply broader knowledge of industry standards/practices to assignments
• Versed in project management skills/techniques
• Able to research and provide spend, supplier and market analysis and distill information to provide insights to the organization, inclusive of opportunity assessments.
• Experience with contract negotiation with: event venues, hotels, third-party service providers.
• Experience partnering and supporting mid to senior level stakeholders – e.g. senior manager, director, or senior director level employees.
• Knowledge and exposure to structured agency / supplier selection processes
You Must Have
• Undergraduate degree
• Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience within meetings & events
Optional experience:
• Certified Meeting Planning (CMP) certification
• MBA
• 5 or more years relevant experience
• Direct and applicable marketing & events experience
• Technology industry experience
• Additional strategic sourcing / procurement experience
