Overview and Responsibilities
The User Experience Design team is responsible for creating fun, innovative, and usable digital content experiences for kids. We build experiences for Nick and Nick Jr on iOS, Android, Responsive Web, Connected Devices, Game Consoles, TVs, Oculus Rift, Hololens, and more.
As a Sr. User Experience Designer, you will work across scrum teams to create the next generation of industry-leading apps and sites for kids. You are equal parts visual and user experience designer, and a technology enthusiast at heart. Your portfolio should reflect your desire to innovate in the user experience space, and incorporate thoughtful, well-informed user-centric decision making. You have experience designing content-rich, consumer-facing applications that wow and delight users.
In this role, you will be responsible for producing end-to-end UX and Design deliverables for large cross-platform kid experiences. These include responsive wireframes, storyboards, prototypes that exhibit delightful animation and interactions, and high-fidelity comps that are detail oriented and production-ready. You will work to optimize and make improvements to existing experiences and find opportunities to think of the next big thing. You should also be able to present and articulate design thinking in an effective manner in order to “sell” the approach to stakeholders.
You value prototypes over static comps. You are right at home in Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch, but can easily switch gears and jump into Axure, Pixate, Proto.io, After Effects, or other tools to get your concept across. You are experienced in solving user problems with research and data, and like to have a solid understanding of your users. You are also thoughtful in how you approach solutions so that they are scalable and account for the entire product family on different platforms.
Most importantly, you are a conceptual thinker, a strong visual storyteller, and a strategist who understands the value of integrating brand narrative into your solutions.
