Job Description:
ICF International is looking for Manager level candidates to help grow our North American and global Power asset valuation and due diligence consulting business. ICF is a leader in providing due diligence services to private equity, investment banking, and other financial clients and is looking to expand its Independent Engineering practice with a strong focus on solar and wind technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to ICF’s growth objectives through the development of innovative, highly analytical, accurate, timely, quality and commercially relevant services.
The candidate would typically lead or support the identification and pursuit of business opportunities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, establish and maintain client relationships, and mentor junior level staff. Managers at ICF International advance in our consulting practice by becoming technical experts in specific areas of specialization, focusing on key sales and business development resources managing large accounts and becoming experienced project managers leading large and technically diverse teams on major projects.
The potential candidate will work in ICF’s Independent Engineering/Owner’s Engineering (IE/OE) practice. The position will focus on finding and delivering asset valuation, buy side/sell side due diligence and restructuring consulting services to the financial community and other project participants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct and lead IE due diligence engagements on generating assets with a focus on the financial performance attributes of the projects
• Review technical inputs into the pro forma for generating assets
• Engage in business development and marketing to financial clients
• Presenting material to internal and external clients
• Managing workload for specific projects to ensure high quality work product and deliverables are submitted to meet project schedules
• Prepare reports, presentations and other documents for clients
• Monitoring and communicating industry developments related to the Power segment of the energy industry
• Review and supervision of data entry and database creation
• Manage staffing teams for projects and mentoring junior staff to foster development
• Pursue business development opportunities consistent with ICF’s goals. This will include indirect sales opportunities such as presenting at conferences, publishing articles, and pursuing direct sales opportunities
• Periodically engage in Owner’s Engineering services such as asset valuation, useful life assessment and other specific services as requested by the client
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Master's Degree or PhD in engineering, finance or related degree
• Strong skills related to MS Office suite applications particularly Excel
• 8+ years of related energy industry experience with a focus on PV solar and wind power
• Strong interest in economics/finance/policy and the energy industry
• Project management experience
• Advanced knowledge of power market finance in the U.S.
• iBanking, developer, or consulting experience in the renewable power finance market
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Experience with business development and client development
• Demonstrated quantitative and modeling skills
• Prior consulting experience with an emphasis on proposal writing
• Experience with VB and macros as it relates to the use of MS Excel
Professional Skills:
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
• Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team
• Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions
• Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude
