Job Description:
The Strategy Director provides deep insight into internal and external factors affecting the client's business, marketing, and digital presence. The Director defines the opportunity space for digital, as well as the vision, strategic framework, and specific solutions required to deliver against identified business challenges, consumer needs, and specific business goals. The Director is a visionary leader who "connects the dots" around business and consumer insights, and articulates digital concepts and solutions in a clear and compelling way to clients. This highly collaborative role interfaces heavily with internal team members and C-level client contacts throughout the strategy development process as well as execution. The Director leads cross-functional engagement teams across a range of high-complexity project types with multiple components. These may include research and insights, valuation and business case development, organizational design, process optimization, digital roadmap development, future state visualizations, and other modules depending on client needs. The Director may serve as lead digital strategist on one or more key accounts and/or brands, and take on additional project work as appropriate. The Director also plays an active role in business development, preparing proposals and participating in sales presentations. He/she may participate in industry groups, speak at industry events, and publish thought leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Performing strategic analyses
• Conducting competitive and market best practices audits
• Constantly reviewing third-party research regarding marketing best practices, consumer trends, etc. and developing reports for clients
• Conducting primary consumer research (interviews, focus groups)
• Developing integrated marketing and promotions campaigns for clients
• Developing customer targeting and segmentation strategies
• Developing customer acquisition, retention and conversion strategies
• Developing business cases and ROIs for various business purposes, including direct response advertising campaigns, marketing programs, campaign options, and application development efforts
• Delivering client work
• Partnering with senior account leadership to support client decision-making
• Providing strategic counsel to executive level clients
• Actively contributing to cross functional delivery teams
• Coordinating with media and analytics teams to make sure findings inform strategic planning
• Supporting business development
• Developing thought leadership pieces for publication and/or business development
• Supporting business development efforts with research, structure, smart thinking and big ideas
• Scoping and pitching projects for new and existing clients as needed
Qualifications:
• 8- 10 years Internet, marketing or management consulting experience
• Ability to support most or all of the above responsibilities
• Ability to review vast amounts of research, synthesize and draw relevant conclusions
• Ability to multitask so as to support multiple projects
• Experiencein consumer brand marketing (consulting or client-side)
• Experience with online advertising, online strategy, site development strategy, basic front-end technology issues
• Excellent presentation skills and comfortable presenting ideas in front of clients
• Team player with the ability to play different roles within the team
• Comfortable with being able to quickly join the client team and immediately add value
• Comfortable developing Excel models of average complexity
• Excellent PowerPoint skills
• Must be willing to travel a few days a month, as needed
• Classic management consulting training a plus
