Microsoft Azure is one of the fastest growing cloud platforms in the world, and the core mission of this role is to engage with our customers and prospects to provide on-going support for our supported workloads on the Microsoft Azure platform. In this role you will be part of the team that implements, deploys, and operates our Microsoft Azure cloud based offerings.

As part of our managed cloud strategy we are seeking an experienced and accomplished Microsoft Azure Engineer to fill key a position within our specialist support team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical professional confident in Microsoft Azure. The role is customer facing, working closely with business and technical influencers, IT Pros, and Rackspace partners. The right candidate for the role will have multiple years of experience with Microsoft Azure. You have served as a subject matter expert in designing, deploying, and managing workloads to live in the cloud.
We are looking for the top talent in the industry, highly-skilled in complex cloud deployments and adept at troubleshooting of complex cloud based workloads, and you will be skilled at multiple scripting languages.
Your engagements will see you directly working with customers and prospects as well as supporting existing solutions. Each specific customer will have specific public cloud needs, and require you to understand complex applications that may sit across a multitude of service models and technologies.
Daily Responsibilities
• Educate customers of all size on the value proposition of managed services on Microsoft Azure, and participate in technical discussions to address customer challenges with cloud workloads.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the Azure technical and partner communities.
• Implement and support new and existing customers on Microsoft Azure infrastructure and Microsoft IaaS, and PaaS.
• Implement and support new and existing customers on Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
• Act as a liaison between customers, sales, service engineering teams, and support.
Qualifications
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of Cloud Computing – IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. In addition the right candidate will have the following skills:
• 3-5+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator / Engineer role.
• Experience in Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in Microsoft Active Directory.
• Experience in scripting specifically PowerShell.
• Experience in the Azure components & APIs.
◦ Working knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows and Linux).
◦ Knowledge of databases (SQL Server and MySQL)
# Knowledge of relevant web services, mail, backup, and application monitoring
# Good knowledge of networking fundamentals
# Good knowledge of server hardware
# Good knowledge of application developments using Agile, and DevOps good practices
• Knowledge of Azure federation services is preferred.
One or some of these would accreditations be advantageous: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions, Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions, MSCE, CCNA.

• Tenacious problem solver, will own issues until full resolution
• Effective with time management and expected deliverables
• Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal with great attention to detail
• Have experience in providing mentoring for Support team members and Sales Representatives
• Negotiation and objection handling skills
