The Office of Inclusive Diversity (OID) is a newly formed strategic business unit charged with fully enabling Yahoo's corporate mission by empowering Yahoo's to practice Inclusive Diversity across all areas of the organization. Inclusive Diversity means cultivating difference, managing for inclusion and activating new talents and markets. The OID will develop programs, standards, and guidelines that educate and empower our corporate community to expand our collective perspective in a way that creates new value for Yahoo.
A Lot About You:
The OID is seeking a summer intern to focus on industry research and market analysis that both defines and solidifies the business case for investing in diversity and inclusion as a core business practice. The role will be responsible for building a library of D&I research from across the industry and through partnerships with vendors. The library should be comprehensive, well-organized and accessible, and up to date. What will success look like? By the end of the assignment, Yahoos will have access to a full library of D&I research that is well annotated and will know exactly how and where to access the data. Role will also include special ad hoc research projects that support the various business units in developing org-level diversity & inclusion plans.
Your Day:
• Build a library of research around how Inclusive Diversity (ID) drives business success through: Innovation, Talent Acquisition & Retention, EmployeeEngagement, Market Perception & Financial Success
• Establish classification system for storing and retrieving research
• Establish guidelines for updating library and keeping content fresh after assignment ends
• Develop plan for launching library to key stakeholders as a source for developing and validating business plans
• Execute ad hoc special projects for customized research requests
You Must Have:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field of study. Business, Social Research, or Research/Library Science are preferred
• GPA: 3.5 or above
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and pro-actively manage expectations around deliverables
• Excellent project tracking and follow-up
• Flexible and willing to contribute in a small team environment focused on building a new business unit from scratch
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Highly proficient in MS Office (experience building JIVE pages a plus)
