A Lot About You
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in online and/or traditional media sales and a working knowledge of Audience sales plus the Mobile, Video, Native and Social space. We're looking for an energetic self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in driving revenue and increasing the total number of advertises in category. This Media Sales Professional is expected to hit a sales quota through a high volume of outbound activity coupled with the understanding Yahoo’s mission and the ability to articulate our value to the advertising community.
Your Day
• Be a student of Yahoo and the total digital media landscape which means adopting and evangelizing all platforms, products and opportunities both externally and internally.
• Grow revenue and number of clients from both proactive outreach and an assigned list of prospects
◦ Hit target revenue quota
◦ Engage and strategize at all levels from CEO/CMO to Brand Managers to Media Buyers at both ad agencies and clients direct
◦ Pitch new opportunities to prospects and existing advertisers that demonstrates how Yahoo will meet their advertising objectives
◦ Provide in category thought leadership and competitive insights
◦ Proactively provide smart client research and industry specific information
• Navigate internally with various business units to create compelling media solutions for advertisers
You Must Have
Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of overall sales experience
• BA/BS degree in business or related field
• Proven track record of success driving revenue through the development of long-term strategic relationships
• Demonstrated track record of structuring and managing complex negotiations to successful closure and delivery at a 6-figure level
• Willingness to travel 10-20%
• Ability to work and contribute in a large team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years of media sales experience
• Experience in online advertising sales, media buying, brand management, promotions and sponsorships is highly desired
• Strong understanding of the entire digital media ecosystem from publisher to advertiser
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily
• Ability to work well independently and under pressure, as well as be highly responsive to clients
