The Research Manager should be a creative, social media savvy, out-of-the-box thinker, with a passion for telling the story in a creative way and a conversational tone. This individual will be responsible for building an insights platform for Meredith brands that will provide strategic research leadership and consultation across multiple channels. In addition, the individual in this position:
• Will elevate the presence of insights for the company, conducting ongoing review of key advertising growth categories and disseminating category and market information in a creative and easy to read format
• Keeps up with industry trends and current research tools
• Will work on larger scale company-wide insights projects and must have an understanding of both qualitative/quantitative research methodologies (print/digital) and listening tools, as well as proficiency in analyzing data, interpreting results and communicating findings
• Build a strong social media platform for the department
Essential Job Functions
40%
Disseminate category insights and market information across Meredith business groups to inform strategy, drive pre-sale conversations and foster greater client communication and ideation utilizing proprietary, secondary and innovative research listening tools

Consults and responds to business operational needs. Responsibilities entail product management and insight initiatives, using the Meredith Knows Women Consumer Panel, MRI Starch/Vizu and our private online community, Real Women Talking, to assess consumer behavior, brand insights and engagement metrics.

Growth area for research support and consultation for Digital sales & marketing team in managing insight research to support marketing partnerships with clients and leveraging digital syndicated audience tools to maximize our competitive market position. Update and expand digital category one sheets in ad sales repository.
10%
Works in partnership with Associate Research Director on macro research initiatives relating to departmental strategic goals. Responsible for maintaining departmental category newsletters and deliverables that showcase actionable consumer insights for all Meredith business groups
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
One to two years in primary research or marketing. Digital media experience a plus. Must have an eagerness to be learn new areas of the media business.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills required; Strong presentation skills a plus.
Creative, out of the box, strategic thinker with developed analytical skills.
Must be organized and detailed oriented
Must have ability to work on multiple projects
Working knowledge of syndicated print & digital research resources (MRI, MARS, IPSOS, Comscore/MRI Fusion, etc) a must.
Working knowledge of print & digital advertising accountability tools (MRI Starch, Vizu, Nielsen, Millward-Brown/Dynamic Logic) preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel; proficiency with New Age, PIB and Media Radar. InDesign experience a plus.
