The Integrated Advertising team in London are looking for an experienced CG Supervisor/Lead, with experience of Houdini and/or Maya. This role requires broad knowledge and experience of the entire 3D pipeline, with a focus on producing sophisticated visual effects and/or CG look development. Tasks may include lighting, shading, rendering, dynamics, fur, feathers, fluids and particle based FX. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the core Integrated Advertising team, in a senior capacity.
Skills Required:
• Ability to develop, execute, light, render and test comp FX sequences is a must.
• Demonstrable experience of look development, lighting and rendering, procedural modelling and animation, fur, feathers, fluids and dynamics
• Strong understanding of lighting/shading/texturing principles and techniques
• Excellent knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya
• A working knowledge of Arnold, Renderman, Mental Ray, or Mantra
• A thorough understanding of the techniques and technologies relating to FX simulation and procedural animation
• A good understanding of animation and an eye for motion
• A familiarity with pipeline issues, especially working between multiple packages
• A familiarity with scripting e.g. python, hscript or mel
• A working knowledge of at least one compositing application (e.g. Nuke) and a solid understanding of the compositing process
• Ability to lead a commercial or team
• Working on shots of a high level of complexity; this role will also involve hands on shot production work when needed.
• Strong communication skills are critical. Must be able to work within a team, taking direction and exercising attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment
• Must be self-motivated, a team player and organised
• Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks
• Able and willing to follow direction and openly collaborate with others
• Ability to work well under pressure and open to working flexible hours
• Working closely with the 2D team throughout the project, with a focus on creating the highest quality images in the most efficient way possible, taking into account the creative, budget and time considerations of the project.
• Troubleshooting issues when they arise, working with the producers and supervisors to deliver the project on time and with high quality CG.
• Work with the crew manager on the resource plan, ensuring that your team have the technical and creative skills represented to deliver the project's needs. Managing and mentoring CG artists performance, working closely with the Head of CG and crew manager.
• Commercial experience including being able to quote timescale and bid for projects appropriately would be an advantage
• Mari, Photoshop, PfTrack or 3DEqualizer experience a plus
• On set supervision and data capture experience a plus
