Bloomberg runs on data. We're nearing one petabyte and growing, with no end in sight. Our data captures the who, what, when, where and why of how our clients use Bloomberg products. As the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence team, we are responsible for ingesting and preparing massive amounts of data for reporting, dashboards, self-service and advanced analytics. The data will also be used to drive new businesses within Bloomberg by providing new insights.
Who are you? A hands-on ETL developer who is excited to tackle the challenges that come with large volumes of data and complex business rules. You'll help us build a hybrid platform that combines traditional warehouse technologies, MPP databases and Hadoop.
We'll trust you to:
• Build scalable, high throughput systems that process more than 10 billion data points a day
• Work on developing and supporting technology platforms using Informatica, Greenplum, the Hadoop stack and a variety of BI tools
• Join us in furthering our presence in the open source community
• Interact directly with users to architect and design our solutions
You need to have:
• 5+ years of experience using ETL tools including Informatica
• Experience with large database and DW Implementation (20+ TBs)
• Knowledge of database design techniques and expert SQL skills
• experience programming in a Linux/UNIX environment including shell scripting
