Electricity Market Associate

Job Description:
ICF International seeks a qualified Electricity Market Associate to support energy infrastructure modeling and analysis projects for our federal clients who focus on ensuring the reliability and resiliency of the U.S. electric grid through robust analytical, modeling, and assessment capabilities to address energy issues of national importance. The teams' responsibilities include modeling and simulation for emergency response and restoration; providing visualization tools and analysis to support real-time assessments and situational awareness; providing predictive modeling to identify areas of electric system vulnerability and mitigate reliability events; and energy industry assessments, analyses, and modeling to gain a better understanding of critical interdependencies between sectors and different segments of the energy industry.
Work includes conducting research, data collection, fact finding, modeling review, and analysis related to electricity and transmission markets. The Electricity Market Associate is responsible for managing and completing project tasks related to the development and delivery of accurate, timely, and high quality products and services.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide research, analysis, writing, management support, and reporting on specific technical issues related to the power markets operations, economics, structure, grid issues, and the regulatory environment
• Monitor markets and the key regulatory bodies (e.g., the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) in order to identify the prospects of changes in regulations and other market related developments that may affect the nation's infrastructure
• Creates written documents that convey key analytic findings for distribution to internal/external clients
• Prepares and presents persuasive presentations for the client senior staff
• Attend meetings with government officials on related topics
• Resolves issues effectively with projects/clients
• Ability to administer data collection programs
• Skill in making effective oral and written presentations to individuals and groups
Basic Qualifications:
• Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of U.S. electricity markets
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to develop and use available information sources
• Experience applying appropriate analytical techniques to analyze electricity markets
• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Engineering, business, or related field plus 6+ years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree in engineering, economics, business, or related field, plus4+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Government consulting experience
• Experience working with the Department of Energy, FERC, or EPA
• Energy Industry experience, specifically related to the power market operations, economics, infrastructure issues, and policy analysis.

• Excellent writing skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Strong outreach, organizational and self-motivation skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Demonstrated customer service orientation and outstanding level of professionalism
