The Role
The Product Marketing Manager, Membership is responsible for maximizing audience conversion and usage of Yahoo’s membership and security flows for Yahoo’s web and mobile products. This role is responsible for the overall marketing strategy and execution of specific campaigns and product communications to drive product adoption and feature usage. This role partners with Product Managers to ensure the voice of the customer is reflected in product strategies, features, and definition. This role partners with media creative planning teams to develop creative assets used throughout the user funnel. This role occasionally includes planning quantitative user research to understand current users and identify new target segments.
Your Day
To be considered for this role, you must have a strong track record of success in driving consumers to adopt web and mobile product experiences. To be successful in this role, you must be a team player with strong strategic aptitude, product sensibilities, creative skill, and analytical capabilities. Specific responsibilities include:
• Develop marketing strategies and campaigns that deliver on adoption and usage goals of Yahoo Membership products
• Be a subject matter expert about your product, competition, and industry and contribute to strategy and plans for growth; become a trusted advisor to Product Management
• Track, test, and optimize the user funnel to ensure key performance metrics and to continuously improve best practices
• Analyze user needs and identify/prioritize the problems, pain points, and pleasure points (via analytics, behaviors, blogs, ratings/reviews, feedback, surveys, etc.).
• Share results and recommendations with Membership team and senior leadership.
• Develop and ensure consistent usage of positioning and messaging in all assets working with internal and external agencies to develop compelling creative briefs and produce differentiated assets
• Manage the planning of owned and operated marketing channels including product onboarding, CRM, social and Yahoo Network, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to execute
• Plan research necessary to understand customer needs and new opportunities
Preferred Qualifications
• Proven track record of marketing campaigns in the consumer internet s or ecommerce pace
• Strong articulation of right / left brain thinking with proven creative and analytical skill-set (e.g. performance driven marketing campaigns)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 4 year college degree required: MBA a plus
• 5-7 years of consumer marketing experience
• Demonstrated track record of leveraging data insights to drive platform growth; mobile experience a plus
• Experience in developing, executing and analyzing consumer marketing initiatives
• Track record of influencing people and process outside immediate work group
• Proven success in a fast-paced, matrixed work environment, as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing, and highly competitive industry
