Description
PURPOSE
This is an exciting role to drive the Marketing team’s commercial performance by systematically measuring overall and campaign specific results. The post holder will work closely with the Marketing teams to assist with planning (target setting) as well as post-campaign evaluation.
Successful candidate should have in depth knowledge of key B2B marketing tactics, their typical effectiveness across different channels and good understanding about lead funnels.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITY
• Overall planning: working closely with commercial marketing teams by providing necessary tools and data to help them plan upcoming yearly / quarterly performance; translate it to potential contribution (e.g. attributable revenue / lead & pipeline generation targets) and communicate potential impact for other units
• Overall performance tracking/reporting: develop dashboards (by either on his/her own or working closely with Business Intelligence team) to reflect marketing performance vs. the agreed targets
• Campaign specific planning/set-up: working closely with commercial marketing teams to prepare ad-hoc business cases for bigger campaigns, reflecting potential business impact (ROI/payback period); advise on the best practices for the campaign set-up for accurate post campaign evaluation
• Campaign specific post analysis: analyze past campaigns performance to identify best practices and share them across the commercial marketing teams
• Prioritization: support the marketing teams with their efforts on prioritization by quantitatively assessing the expected returns from various potential activities
• Processes: work across all marketing areas with marketing heads to define and document common and essential marketing processes that allow easy replication of most efficient roll-out methods, and reduce potential mistakes and re-work
• Training: support the planning of the Marketing Academy and on-boarding of new employees to ensure up-skilling of department as well as sharing of common procedures and stakeholder maps
INTERNAL / EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS
This is a hands-on managers role, which requires a high degree of collaboration with business owners. Key stakeholders include (without being limited to):
• Commercial marketing teams
• Other marketing functions:
◦ Web and Digital Marketing team
◦ Events team
◦ Customer research team
• Sales team
• Product teams and assessment teams
• Global Marketing team
The role will involve being part of cross-functional meetings and also presenting from time to time to stakeholder groups.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
This is a role that requires an individual with demonstrable experience in either B2B marketing analytics or B2B commercial business analytics environment. Successful candidate will:
• Have strong numerical background
• Be able to quantify/infer various aspects of marketing metrics (e.g. value of qualified lead)
• Modeling / business case preparation experience
• Be able to problem solve / break the problem into smaller understandable units
• High sense of curiosity / deep truth seeking
• Strong sense of teamwork and an ability to deal with and handle feedback from multiple stakeholders
• Ability to handle medium sized datasets (250-10,000 records) is advantage
Qualifications
Essential:
• Experience in B2B marketing analytics or B2B commercial business analytics environment
• Educated to degree level qualification, or equivalent level qualifications in Business, Economics or Numerical subject (Mathematics / Statistics)
• Ability to build relationship and work collaboratively both internally and externally
• Thought leadership and a desire to constantly stay abreast of new techniques, tools and development
• Ability to work under pressure, staying ahead of complex schedules
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of latest CRM / MA tools (i.e. Salesforce, ExactTarget)
Desirable:
• Experience with data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview)
• Experience in data management tools/languages (SQL / Python / Alteryx)
