What you’ll do:
• Understand and own the process of Snapchat’s revenue cycle, with a strong eye toward improving and building this process out
• Review contracts to understand new review streams and determine impact on revenue recognition and billing
• Work closely with Ad Sales and Legal teams and address the impact of potential contract terms on revenue recognition
• Streamline and automate accounting process for revenue and AR
• Responsible for detailed review of monthly revenue information. Ensuring accounting is in accordance with GAAP
• Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP, with emphasis on Revenue Recognition, including experience with multiple element arrangements and Gross vs Net Accounting
• Detailed review of AR and assessment of collectability and adequacy of allowance for doubtful accounts and make good liabilities
• Involved in monthly close process and responsible for preparing or overseeing the preparation of various reconciliations
• Manage a team of 2-3 resources
• Assist with special projects as needed
Who we’re looking for:
• Minimum 10-12 years relevant accounting experience, Big 4 experience preferred
• BS Accounting and CPA preferred
• Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP, Revenue Recognition experience a requirement
• Experience with complex revenue recognition and accounting issues
• Fortune 500 and or private/startup company experience (both preferred)
• Must be highly proficient in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLookUp’s, etc
• Ability to work under pressure, often in a deadline driven environment and ability to perform several tasks concurrently
• Must possess excellent critical thinking, problem solving skills and superior attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
