Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. ("AEG") is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. Currently managed by AEG Facilities, Oracle Arena and O.co Coliseum sits on 132 acres with an ample 10,000 on-site parking spaces. The venues are easily accessible by both highway and public transportation and is complete with a pedestrian bridge which allows guests direct access to the venues from the Coliseum BART station.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the safety & security of Oakland O.Co Coliseum and Oracle patrons, employees, and the assets. Responsible for performance & conduct of all facility security officers assigned to the watch at the O.Co Coliseum and Oracle complex.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform supervisory duties at the Oakland O.Co Coliseum and Oracle Arena complex.
2. Monitor the performance, conduct and attendance of facility security officers assigned to the site.
3. Responsible for the quality of the performance, conduct & effectiveness of the entire facility security team as a cohesive unit assigned to the site.
4. Responsible for the professional appearance of the entire facility security team assigned to the site.
5. Responsible for the quality and accuracy of the all logs and incident reports generated at the site.
6. Responsible for the security and proper control of the lost & found items turned into the Security Department at the assigned site.
7. Responsible for maintaining proper staffing level at the site, in case of sick calls/ absences.
8. Interact with O.Co Coliseum and Oracle Arena patrons, vendors & employees in a courteous and professional manner.
9. Meet all assigned tasks within the guidelines & deadlines set by the Facility Security Manager, Security Manager, Director of Security.
10. Adhere to the Security Department’s Prime Directives.
11. Comply, implement and adhere to all legal & ethical instructions given by the Facility Security Manager, Security Manager, Director of Security.
12. Take an active participatory role in creating & conducting on-going, in-service training for the security personnel assigned to the site.
13. Manage and control the key program at the assigned site.
14. Apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems in order to successfully perform and direct varied & complex tasks.
15. Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without the loss of efficiency or composure.
16. Comply with & adhere to all the department’s performance, conduct & attendance standards.
17. Assist & participate in conducting periodical performance appraisals of the facility security officers assigned to the site.
18. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
1. Two years of college or equivalent.
2. Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and drug screening.
3. Must have a valid California Driver’s License.
4. An understanding of all the rules of law & the relevant penal codes.
5. Ability to accept responsibility for the performance & conduct of the entire facility security team assigned to the site.
6. Ability to represent AEG, O.Co Coliseum, Oracle Arena and the Security Department in an exemplary manner.
7. Ability to exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff & lead by example.
8. Ability to maintain good business relations with all the employees & managers.
9. Ability to effectively manage crises and work under pressure without loss of composure.
10. Ability to exhibit maturity by making sound judgments.
11. Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve relevant information.
12. Ability to communicate effectively in English.
13. Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional patrons and employees during intensely aggravated circumstances.
14. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
15. Ability to participate in all departmental and company-wide meetings.
16. Ability to sit, walk, stand, lift at least 45 lbs, reach, pull, push, grasp, and drag.
17. Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality.
18. Ability to supervise effectively, fairly & efficiently.
19. Applicants must have a current California guard card, or be willing and able to obtain one prior to employment.
20. Military and/or Law Enforcement experience preferred
Work Conditions:
1. Tasks are performed with moderate supervision.
2. Walking & standing occurs 70% of the time.
3. Talking, hearing, walking, running, & vision activities occur continuously.
4. Some tasks may require employees to come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
Employee should use precautions & follow safety guidelines.
5. Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors, with possible exposure to inclement
weather.
