DESCRIPTION:
The Payroll Clerk will assist Coordinator in processing all union and non-union payroll for the Los Angeles broadcast facility (both staff & per diem). The position's responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Work closely with Managers and Schedulers to receive employee hours
• Enter all union employee hours, rates, and account information into time keeping system
• Review for accuracy, appropriate level of approval, and compliance with union agreements
• Assist in the coordination of new hire paperwork between schedulers and Human Resources
• Generate and print time keeping reports for validation and documentation
• Recognize and research errors
• Research and respond to all inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll information
• Organize and maintain payroll/time sheet files
• Complete special projects as assigned
• Employee will receive training on payroll systems and on union labor agreements specific to company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
• Two to three years of payroll experience preferred but not required
• In depth knowledge of union contracts (e.g. IBEW, IATSE, WGA) a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other computer applications
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload efficiently, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized
