As an entry level Market Data Analyst in our Global Data business, you'll play a key role in producing financial content, algorithms, research notes and analyses for the Bloomberg Terminal - inspiring news and analysis that empowers our clients to make the right decisions. Data Analysts also provide unparalleled customer service and solve complex issues, while building relationships with key market players in the financial industry.

What we do in Global Data
Global Data collaborates with Sales, News, and Research and Development, while staying in tune with our client needs, contributing to the development of the Data Management products and fuelling Bloomberg news stories with the data that we receive. Our Analysts:
• Apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative work-flow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our processes and software
• Assist our world-renowned client support help desk with escalated client inquiries
• Develop expertise in fast-moving market sector information
• Intake and distill raw data to convey actionable information that enables our clients to make better-informed decisions
• Liaise with technology teams to enhance relevant product databases
• Maintain, improve and deliver accurate, high quality information for the Bloomberg Terminal
What to expect from your full-time opportunity
You'll start off in the 2017 Global Data training program, which will help you build the foundation for your entire career at Bloomberg. You'll develop product knowledge, learn about our clients and their needs, and build relationships throughout the company.
The training program is 4 - week program that includes classroom training in financial concepts, data, and the functions of our state-of-the-art Bloomberg Terminal, as well the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of these market sectors: Equities, Fixed Income, or Derivatives. You'll then work in one of these market sectors after you complete the training program.
The market sector you work in will depend on your skillset and interests and Bloomberg's business needs.
What we look for
We look for candidates who:
• Can join us full-time on April 4, 2017
• Are fluent in both Japanese and English is a must
• Have earned a bachelor's or Masters' prior to joining us
• Previously interned in finance, business management or data/research would be a plus
• Extracurricular activities in addition to coursework
• Prior coursework or involvement with the financial markets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (additional knowledge in VBA will be an advantage)
• Project management and organizational skill

• Ability to adapt to a fluid environment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to marketing, statistics and/or software programming
• Strong aptitude for problem solving, plus the drive to think creatively
