MAJOR PURPOSE:
The Account Planner will support the Sales team in planning and proposal building for Tribune 365’s existing customer base. This role will work both independently and with Account Executives in regional offices to provide optimal pre-sales client support for Advertisers and Agencies. The Account Planner will prepare sales proposals, collect and integrate research information, complete client RFP’s and provide the clients with other information as requested.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare sales proposals (RFPs) and assemble client presentations.
Report internal trends pertaining to advertising verticals.
Work with Sales team and other departments to assist in the creation of client proposals, presentations, and media solutions.
Work directly with Account Executives or Sales Management to determine pre-sales research needs. Conduct pre-sales fact-finding to assist Account Executives and Sales Management in preparation for sales meetings. (Research could include but is not limited to product information, key contacts, demographics, etc).
Coordinate research using a creative solutions advertising approach to meet the clients needs.
Verify inventory availability throughout the sales proposal process.
Coordinate client requests across Tribune Company’s other advertising platforms.
Provide all sales activity tracking for the office. Including sales call tracking for assigned account executives.
Provide sales administrative/account related support as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Arts degree, or equivalent experience.
At least 2-3 years of work experience in print or interactive media environment.
A Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially Excel, is a must. Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Dynamix is a plus.
Past experience with Dart Sales Manager (DSM) and/or other online media planning software is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
An ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is vital.
