At Netflix, the Big Data platform is the core foundation in driving all of our product decisions that directly impact our customer experience. The platform is leveraged across the company to build data models for recommendations, analyze customer streaming experience, content take-rate plus more. Our platform processes hundreds of billions of events a day and we built a petabyte scale data warehouse in the cloud. Here is our Big Data architecture presentation at the AWS re:Invent conference.
We are looking for a senior distributed systems engineer to help architect, build, and continue to scale the Netflix's big data infrastructure in the cloud.
You will be part of the team to help:
Partner with data pipeline engineering team to architect and build the system that ingests hundreds of billions of events into our Hive data warehouse.
Build federated execution services like Genie to manage job executions in various open source data processing engines like Hadoop, Presto and Spark.
Build a data warehouse storage service layer on top of our 25 PB data warehouse on AWS S3.
Efficiently integrate our Big Data infrastructure in the AWS cloud.
Help contribute our services and tools to Netflix OSS. Share our experiences and collaborate with the open source communities.
About you:
You are thrilled to help build one of the biggest big data infrastructure in the public cloud.
You love to solve complex problems and provide simple, elegant solutions.You enjoy collaborating across teams and work well in a cross-functional environment.
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You have 6+ years of experience in building large scale applications using Java or similar languages.
You have a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
