Looking for a rewarding IT career and to be part of a cool team with insanely talented people? Yelp is looking for a superstar to join the IT Engineering team in our San Francisco office. The IT Engineer will be a key member of the project team focused on transforming the end-user application experience at Yelp. The focus of this highly visible, high-impact role will be on configuring, implementing, integrating, supporting and enabling automation of on-premise and cloud based applications.
Responsibilities
• Be a key technical member of the ITENG-Apps team focused on delivering end-user applications for on-premise and SaaS based applications. Google Apps, JIRA, OneLogin, Box.com, Oomnitza, and many other business applications
• Work closely with IT Business Analyst team to recommend areas of improvement in performance and feature capabilities that will improve our end-users successful use of the products and drive adoption
• Research and develop solutions for support cases using extensive product knowledge and troubleshooting techniques
• Maintain and administer cloud and internal applications
• Write scripts that automate applications and settings distribution using internal tools
• Diagnose and investigate unique and complex systemic problems
• Collaborate and work with cross-functional teams to manage client systems as they relate to internal infrastructure
Requirements
• BS in CS, IT or related discipline or equivalent work experience and a minimum of 3-5 years experience working in an IT Engineering professional environment
• Demonstrated strong customer service focus, analytical, problem solving and teamwork abilities
• Must be a quick learner with ability to adapt to changing service needs and processes
• Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g. Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
• Experience prioritizing projects and tasks effectively to complete deliverables on time while also supporting day-to-day issue escalations
• Strong initiative to develop solutions and make technical recommendations independently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both verbal and written - with ability to communicate clearly and at the right level of detail
