Cinesite Montreal is seeking a Lighting/Compositing Artist for Feature Animated films. The ideal candidate should be highly organized and motivated with the desire to work within a top quality and fast-paced animation team.
The Role:
• Work with the Lighting Lead and Senior Artists to understand the look of individual sequences to achieve the technical and artistic objectives while respecting the story
• Receive master shots for sequences and work with direction from Lighting Lead to light and composite them
• In line with the technical and creative requirements of the Feature Animation project, light shots and composite them using prescribed software and programs
• Harmonize the creative and technical aspects of each plan
• Ensure that shots meet the render requirements and are completed in a timely fashion
• Submit shots in dailies and work with the team to discuss and resolve issues pertaining to the shots
We’d like to talk to you if you have:
• An understanding of light, shading and color, as well as of composting principles and practices.
• An understanding of stylized lighting required for an animated movie
• Ability to work well within a team environment and take direction from Supervisors as appropriate
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• 2 to 4 years experience required in a similar role in the animation industry
• Previous experience in lighting and rendering using Arnold is an asset
• Strong proficiency in Maya and Nuke.
