Horizon Media, Inc., headquartered in New York City, is the largest independent media services company in the world.
We are currently looking to hire a Strategist in ourDirect Marketing Department.
• Develop media plans with guidance of Senior Strategist and Supervisor
• Stay current with evolving media trends and provide recommendations
• Knowledge of client category and competitive activity
• Attend client meetings as appropriate
• Responsible for day to day DR media plan maintenance and execution
• Maintain plan accuracy; ensure plans are clearly labeled, and revisions outlined
• Begin developing and presenting planning concepts and results analysis
• Provide framework for client POV’s, budget maintenance, print media authorizations and plan actualizations
• Explore media alternatives and be creative in recommending media solutions
• Maintain an understanding of syndicated research
• Help train Assistant Strategists.
• Foster good working relationship with Buying Team, Brand Team and client teams
• Oversee and proof work of all subordinates
• Assist in cost requests to Buying Groups under guidance of senior planner / supervisor
• Develop vendor relationships
• Become fluent in CORE & R/F systems, e.g. IMS
• Assist in new business projects
• Review all billing in agreed time frame –ensure bills are in line with BVS / plans
• Confirms data integrity on a weekly basis
• Plays a supporting role in competitive analysis
• Creates initial DRBA – manage traffic process
Requirements:
• 1-2 years media planning experience
• Good understanding of client / competitive category / CORE System
• Knowledge of media terminology systems and internal tools
• Dedicated team player, with passion for presenting new ideas
• Ability to interact well with other Horizon departments
• Keep senior planner and planning supervisor abreast of workflow, project status and due dates
• Collaborate with senior planner and supervisor in creative media solutions
• Motivated
• Ability to identify problems and make recommendation on how to resolve
• Under guidance of senior media planner / supervisor; work with assistant planner to manage workload
