Horizon Media, Inc., headquartered in New York City, is the largest independent media services company in the world. We are currently looking to hire a Director of Strategyin our Direct Marketing Department.This is a dynamic opportunity to join a forward-thinking agency.
Ensure Horizon is delivering excellent client service, innovative media plan development, and insightful analytics.
Employee will:
• Build relations and confidence with client at appropriate level
• Seeks opportunities to advance the client relationship and build agency business
• Builds relationships and confidence with brand group counterparts
• Generates ideas and actions that produce tangible business results
• Supports best practices for planning and contributes to the evolution/development of best practices for strategic planning through to tactical development
• Stimulates creativity across accounts
• Maintains knowledge of all performance success metrics
• Leads client metrics projections
• Participates in establishing department policy and adherence to such policies
• Maintains knowledge of all industry/media innovations and illustrates cross media knowledge
• Actively participate in new business
Marketing Driven
• Provide strategic input to team and Client, providing targeted, actionable media recommendations
• Understand the business model and the key drivers of client and client category
• Attend relevant Client meetings
• Foster a work environment that encourages proactive thinking and action to provide
• innovative and effective media recommendations
• Seeks to ensure a clear understanding of each Brand’s target audience/ prospect in both marketing/ media planning and media buying terms
• Lead facilitation of Marketing Protocol as established by the VP of Strategy / SVP Managing Director
• Collaborate on strategic marketing approach relevant to each Client
Planning
• Deep understanding of Horizon Direct Marketing Division’s strategic offerings
• Lead planning projects
• Keen knowledge of all of Horizon proprietary and syndicated planning tools
• Keep up to date and lead recommendations incorporating existing/traditional as well as emerging and creative communication channels
• Maintain fluency in media trends
• Participate in media vendor meetings
Team Development
• Direct Supervisors and their respective teams in the performance of their internal (HMI) and external (Client) responsibilities
• Inform MD of workflow or staffing issues/concerns and offer solutions
• In collaboration with Supervisors, assess and facilitate career growth development for all team members
• Assess and recommend training needs of group
• Conduct reviews and make salary recommendations for the team
• Oversee and approve team vacation schedules
• Assure smooth and appropriate relationships are developed and maintained at all levels of the planning team with all other HMI departments applying the vision of HMI overall
• Sets aggressive yet achievable performance goals for self and others

Requirements:
• Minimum 8+ years media planning and/or account management experience
• Solutions oriented
• Articulate
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong Written skills
• Managed a team of 3+ professionals
• Primary Client contact in recent role
• Proficient in Word, Excel, powerpoint
• College Grad
