RESPONSIBILITIES:
This person will write and select stories to run in radio newscasts, on line, and on social media platforms. She/he will supervise the other newsroom personnel in the production, writing, and presentation of radio newscasts and digital content. This position also requires one to plan and prepare for upcoming news coverage. He/she will gather stories to be presented on WBZ NewsRadio 1030 and other platforms. **
Qualifications:
We are looking for a dynamic and talented news professional to work as an editor/writer for WBZ NewsRadio 1030. A minimum of 4 years newsroom experience is required. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong news judgment and writing skills as well as an understanding on contemporary multi- platform journalism. The candidate should be able to make news judgment decisions, generate story ideas, and lead a team of journalists in packaging news stories for on-air newscasts, as well as social media and other digital platforms. The candidate should have proficiency with audio editing programs, broadcast newsroom systems and a desire to learn new technologies. This person must be extremely flexible in terms of hours.
