Responsible for managing the entire development of the title from concept to completion, working with internal development team and development support groups to provide and maintain the creative vision of the product. Works collaboratively with the company (marketing, sales and other product development groups) and licensor to meet or exceed expectations of the product and is accountable for delivering milestones promptly. Wholly responsible for project schedules and the timely delivery of a high quality product.
Position Requirements
Essential Job Functions:
• Manages all aspects of team’s product development from concept to completion by:
• Defining assignments and tasks.
• Communicating all needs to the lead producer, providing as much advanced notice as possible.
• Providing lead producer with business and / or activity plans as requested.
• Providing lead producer with timely, accurate status reports.
• Maintaining effective communication with team members, producers, senior producer, publisher, licensor, Director of Game Studios, and other appropriate personnel.
• Managing publisher and licensor product expectations.
• Conducting regular planning and review sessions with team members; identifying future problems and work to avoid them.
• Delivering on-time products that meet contractual obligations.
• Supporting the product’s marketing efforts as required.
• Ensuring a stable gaming product is submitted to the QA process.
• Directs the game development and demonstrates final authority within the team by:
• Managing the initial and ongoing development of detailed written game and technical specifications.
• Working with the studio leads to evaluate feature, schedule, and resource trade-offs.
• Making informed long-term decisions where changes in the game or technical specifications are required / proposed.
• Managing team product expectations and ensures they fit the contract schedule and scope.
• Reviewing the game with quality and consistency in mind and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensuring product documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Performing regular product reviews on target hardware.
• Ensuring game designs and final shipped product reflect current market trends and meet customer expectations via regular internal review and external market research.
• Responsible for mentorship, evaluations, conflict resolution and recognition of the staff to maintain highly motivated and engaged employees.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the implementation plan for the game and technical designs.
• Keep abreast of current and future development tools and processes, target platforms, and competitive products.
• Training and developing team personnel.
• Fostering ownership in the team by soliciting their input throughout the design and production process.
• Developing long-term thinking in the team and fostering proactive problem solving approaches.
• Developing promotable employees.
• Assisting with daily production efforts, as required.
• Promotes a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree Required
Required Experience:
• Overall 2 to 4 years experience
• 1+ years in the software development industry
• Proven track record of delivering original software products (ideally entertainment software) from start to finish as Producer/Project Lead.
• Experience with software development environments.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Self-starter, highly organized and detail oriented team leader and team builder.
• knowledge of project tracking tools such as Microsoft Excel
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing and date driven environment.
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple high profile, complex projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to foster and create successful teams
