Outside Media Sales Representative
The Orlando Sentinel Media Group is seeking an enthusiastic, goal-oriented Multimedia Sales Executive to sell digital and print advertising solutions to new and current clients for Central Florida’s number one website orlandosentinel.com. This full-time position offers a rewarding career opportunity for someone who has a passion for sales and for providing exemplary service in the areas of advertising, marketing, website development and all forms of digital solutions for his/her clients.
The successful candidate will have experience in communicating effectively with business owners and managers about the importance of maintaining comprehensive digital and print advertising and marketing programs. A background in business-to-business sales experience is preferred but is not a requirement if the applicant is enthusiastic, professional, and proven to be reliable. We work with clients to understand their strategic goals in order to help find unique and innovative ways to reach their customers. Our team helps clients develop and launch multi-platform advertising campaigns aimed at our extensive digital audience. In addition to growing and maintaining an existing book of business you will prospect new business opportunities and develop relationships with small and medium sized businesses.
We ask that you are team oriented and driven, skilled at lead generation and cold calling. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a history of responsible media sales, retail sales or business management experience, preferably supplemented by college course work in journalism, advertising, marketing, business administration or a related field, or satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training
Responsibilities
Additional responsibilities include:
Maximizing revenue through consultative sales approach with ability to represent solutions across the array of Tribune Publishing’s digital solutions.
Foster and develop professional relationships within the community and client organizations by attending community, chamber, industry and client functions.
Identify customer needs through pre call planning, utilization of marketing resources, competitive analysis, and customer feedback, in order to connect meaningful media solutions.
Utilize an extensive understanding of account base and related industries to help identify trends and patterns within specific verticals.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, and reviewing professional publications. Required to attend internal training and skill development workshops.
Utilize support roles and resources in order to maximize sales time.
Qualifications
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business (Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Advertising concentration preferred) and preferred three plus years equivalent sales experience
High digital sales acumen and media industry knowledge
Working knowledge and experience utilizing a CRM and Microsoft Office products to manage daily activities
Ability to excel in a highly competitive environment and adaptability to a rapidly evolving media landscape
Effective relationship-building skills
Demonstrated success in meeting revenue goals
Excellent analytical, written, oral, communication, written and presentation skills
